Las Vagas

Since Frank arrived, he has been telling me off for not keeping the blog updated so I'll fill you all in on what we've been up to!!

A few weekends ago I left Aaron to babysit for 2days while I went to live in up in the big smoke of Las Vegas! I flew there late Friday evening with 9 others for a wild weekend!

During our trip I got to walk up and down the strip, sunbath at Caesar's Palace, view the sights from the Stratosphere and take a helicopter ride through the Grand Canyon.

It was a great weekend, Vegas is not like any other place it's crazy!! The Grand Canyon is well worth the visit, but if you go - try not to delete all the amazing photos you get like I have done!!

Frank has arrived -

- and hijacked the blog. Don't worry world the Ennis family are still alive even though the last post was on the 20th Feburary 2007. They have entered into the spirit of California and are relaxed and care-free (about blogging). Although admittedly Rachael's writing time is being taken up by feeding Reuben who will soon be bigger than Chloe. At least that what's she told me while moving from sunbathing beside the pool to the hot tub in her back garden.

Hollywood

Los Angeles

Aaron, Laura, Chloe Reuben and I started out on the 5 hour journey to Los Angeles on Friday evening. We arrived at the Holiday Inn, Hollywood around 2am.

We got a tour around LA on Saturday morning and saw all the well known sights, walk of fame, Hollywood sign (it was a dot in the horizon), Beverley Hills, Bel Air, Sunset blvd, etc..

It was all interesting, but also quite false, the houses around Bel Air and Beverley Hills were class!!Saw houses belomging to Jackie Chan, Tom Cruise, Angelina Jolie, Dr Phil etc.

We went to Huntington State beach, and then travelled south to Costa Meysa where we stayed over night with Beryl and Richard Koehler Relations of mine. We enjoyed spending time with them and their family.

On our way back to Santa Clara we did a bit of beach hopping, stopping at, Manhattan Beach and Long Beach which has the largest Habour outside of China.

The weather was a lot hotter in LA, it was 29C on Saturday it was great!

Laura's Here

Laura arrived on Saturday afternoon (in the pooring rain) after her 11hour flight with a broken in-flight TV.

Sunday we went the church and then to Half Moon Bay State Beach for some photos. It was back to work for Aaron on Monday, so Laura, the children and I drove south to Monterey and visited Monterey Bay Aquarium and Fisherman's Wharf. It was a good day and Reuben and Chloe both enjoyed looking at all the fish.

Tuesday February 13 we travelled to San Francisco and did the Alcatraz tour, then got lunch into the Rainforest cafe (Chloe's favourite)

Wednesday we went to Winchester Mystery House and got told off alot by the grumpy tour guide!! :( Then we shopped!

Chloe got to go to Happy Hollow park and Zoo again on Thursday then the Japenese Friendship gardens

We had a busy week, lots of fun

Half Moon Bay

After leaving Dad and Mum to the airport port on Saturday afternoon we went for a drive down to Half Moon Bay on the coast near San Francisco. The Scenery was really nice on the way but I kept missing photo opportunities which Aaron likes to remind me off!!! Even though it was a really warm day it was a little hazy but we still got a good view of the waves and clifts around half moon bay.

This was Reuben's first trip to the beach after 5months. Chloe loved playing with the sand and Aaron took her down to the water for a little paddle as well!

We stopped on the way back for chloe to get a pony ride - as you can see from the photos, she thought it was great!

Mum & Dad's Holiday

Mum and Dad spent the week with us from Sat 27jan to Feb 3rd. We spent Sunday at Church and at the Park with the Children, then Monday we got the light rail and went shopping at the Great Mall.

Tuesday we went to the Tech Museum in San Jose.

Wednesday, Dad was feeling ill so Mum, the children and I went to the Children's Discovery Museum and did a little more shopping. Thursday we made it to the Intel museum and Friday Mum and I went shopping AGAIN!!!

It was good to have them over for the week and the children loved being spoilt by their grandparents!

Dad, hope you're feeling better!

Sierra-at-Tahoe

We Left our apartment at 8pm on Friday evening to make the 4hour trip to South Lake Tahoe, North california. There were around 20 of us went down to ski for the weekend, the rest were staying in a cabin but we stayed in a hotel down the road with the children.

I took a 2hour ski lesson then skied for the afternoon it was great. Aaron didn't bother with a lesson because he'd skied before and he went down a slope with a drop of 2km along roughly 4km - scary!! Hopefully we'll get to ski again some weekend.

The scenery was class around lake Tahoe as you can see from the photos!Aaron and the children went for drive while I skied and Chloe got to play in the snow- not for very long though it was -10C !!!

Happy Hollow Park and Zoo

Saturday was just like a summer's day back home!!!So we Took Chloe swimming in the morning and then the 4 of us headed to Happy Hollow Park and Zoo.

It's only a 15minute drive from our appartment and has lots of animals that children can look at even feed! Even though Chloe was tired she loved it and Reuben liked looking at the animals too. There's also a play park and a merry-go-round which Chloe didn't want to get off!!

At the park

January 3rd

Hi Everyone, Happy New Year! We've now safely arrived in San Jose and got past the 10hour flight with Chloe and Reuben - they were both very good!! Chloe was kept occupied watching barnyard on the plane.

The city we're staying in is called Santa Clara, it's really nice and there are two playparks about 1/2mile away so Chloe will enjoy that.

Haven't really done much yet! Aaron has had to start straight into work and the children and I are still suffering from jet lag!!

The weather has been quiet good so far might even take Chloe to the out door pool tomorrow if it's nice.

San Jose

Hey All!

It's that time of year again so to avoid Northern Ireland's cold damp Winter we've decided to head back to the States for another 3months!!!

This time we'll be staying in San Jose, California which is just 45mins south of San Fransico.

Aaron is already there - He had to fly out for almost 3weeks before Christmas for Training/working so he's ready to start right away in busy season (Jan - Mar)We didn't think it'd be fair on the kids taking them on more long flights so I stayed home with the babies!I'll still get a 3month holiday in the new year while Aaron has to work.

Make sure you all keep in touch via email /bebo and leave us lots of comments for our blog!!!

Our Last Weekend in DC

Aaron, Graeme and Peter Bell got a sightseeing bus tour around DC on Saturday morning. It was very busy in the city this weekend because the Cherry Blosom Festival has begun!!!

The Ennis family then went to PA for dinner with the Kearns family.

We've got to know the Wayne, Natasha and their family well over the past 3 months so it was nice to spend our final weekend at their house.

On Sunday we went the Malvern church again, it was sad to say goodbye to all the friends we've made!
